gev_indianmalabarPrized long ago by Europeans in India who discovered this half-caffeine bean grown on the Malabar Coast, the visitors observed how the beans were affected by the monsoon winds which caused them to swell and take a slightly fruity taste with accents of honey and cloves. They brought the beans to Europe by the sea where additional humidity during the voyage mellowed these flavors and reduced their acidity. Today's bean, grown under recreated monsoon conditions, is valued for its full-bodied character with subtle flavor notes, combined with its naturally reduced caffeine. 8 oz. Available as ground only.
